Railway Inspection Robot
Railway Inspection Robots(RIR) are robots that autonomously drive on railroad tracks and periodically inspect them. They are equipment that can replace human walking inspection. It can also be used as a device that allows operators to control remotely or autonomously, and receive warning when a problem or anomaly detection occurs. This equipment operates on batteries and can perform artificial intelligence-based inspection while moving for at least 3 hours.
There are three main functions :
The first is a function to periodically inspect parts that affect the driving and safety of railway vehicles, such as track wear, fasteners, and road gravel.
The second is a function to urgently pre-inspect parts that affect driving due to natural disasters such as floods, fires, and landslides before the first train departs.
The third is a robot that comprehensively inspects changing factors that affect safety, such as drunk passengers and animals in advance. This product consists of eleven cameras and two lidars, and while performing deep learning-based inspections, it moves at 20KPH. It can quickly return without inspection at a higher speed if necessary. In particular, it displays the exact location on the railway map based on the navigation device. It was manufactured so that the operator can monitor the video and anomaly detection results in real time through a redundant backup communication device. In the event of a natural disaster, the central control center can directly monitor the video.
